Summary:

The city has been overrun of late, invaded by a strange wave of eccentric criminals. There are men dressed as kangaroos waging a righteous war against the shopping world, omniscient elephants looking for a good grift, leopards and lions feuding over territory and tadpoles with laser eyes. And nothing can stop them, nothing can reason with them or contain them or predict them; and they continue to emerge, reminding humanity of its disgraces, its nightmares and its shameful secret that beneath all the veneers and delusions of civility, we are all truly animals struggling against our chains.

And amidst all this chaos and absurdity, there emerges the Monkey Boy. He came from nowhere. He has no name, no voice and no pants. But he does have an insatiable  love of sprinkles, a nearly infinite number of alternate forms that bestow on him additional powers, and a sword shaped like a banana. He is a creature of a different and unknowable sort and may be humanity’s last hope to finally and truly cage the beasts within.

Part 1: “What Goes Boing in the Night:”

Explosions! Lots and lots of explosions. All seemingly random and unconnected, leaving Police Detectives Alice Malarkey and Dan Malady confused, lost and without leads. Who is behind this destruction? What could possibly be his motive? And what, just what, could any of it possibly have to do with the hazy sightings of a mysterious “monkey boy?”
