Summary:

The city has been overrun of late, invaded by a strange wave of eccentric criminals. There are men dressed as kangaroos waging a righteous war against the shopping world, omniscient elephants looking for a good grift, leopards and lions feuding over territory and tadpoles with laser eyes. And nothing can stop them, nothing can reason with them or contain them or predict them; and they continue to emerge, reminding humanity of its disgraces, its nightmares and its shameful secret that beneath all the veneers and delusions of civility, we are all truly animals struggling against our chains.

And amidst all this chaos and absurdity, there emerges the Monkey Boy. He came from nowhere. He has no name, no voice and no pants. But he does have an insatiable love of sprinkles, a nearly infinite number of alternate forms that bestow on him additional powers, and a sword shaped like a banana. He is a creature of a different and unknowable sort and may be humanity’s last hope to finally and truly cage the beasts within.

Part 2: “Tiger and Space”

They say time travel is impossible, they say no one walks the middle ground between man and tiger, they say that shapeshifting Monkey Boys on crusades to vanquish evil cannot possibly be. Basically, They say a lot of things and sensible people never listen to Them because sensible people know that the world is crazy and the world is big, so big that no “rules,” or “laws” or “governing principles of existence” can hold it for long. And so there are places, isolated and nameless cities where Monkey Boys will battle Tiger People, where time machines will quietly murder continuity and where ancient societies that allowed themselves to perish over diseases and hygiene issues we conquered long ago can hold the only account of humanity’s final days.
